Travel Agent  -  Associate to Agency Owner

​Love to travel and wondering how to turn your passion for exploring the world into a career? 
 
This is an exciting full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys the world of travel and is looking to learn and advance in the travel industry.  Looking for a candidate to work directly with and learn from the agency owner to provide the highest level of customer service to an upscale clientele.  Must be motivated, enthusiastic and detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.  Previous travel industry experience preferred but not required.
 
Responsibilities include securing hotel, air, cruise and tour reservations; communication with suppliers and clients via phone and email, detailed follow up on all aspects of travel arrangements and customer service.  You will work to become proficient with the Sabre global distribution reservation system, TRAMS/Clientbase database and accounting software.
 
This small family-owned business employs a team of 12+ highly engaged and supportive employees with very low turnover. Creating a positive and pleasant work environment is our priority.
 
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years work experience
  • Strong work organization and follow-up skills with great attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including excellent phone presentation
  • Tech-savvy.  Proficiency with computer programs including Word, Excel and willingness to learn  programs including airline reservations system and in-house accounting software
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities in a fast-paced, busy environment
  • Provide a positive, solution driven attitude towards clientele
  • Fast learner with high accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with and enjoy learning new skills
  • Proficient at computer research
  • Problem solver and creative thinker
  • Willingness to assist with data entry
 
Desirable Skills:
  • Hospitality or service industry work experience
  • Working knowledge of airline reservation system (any)
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs
  • Personal travel experiences
  • Knowledge of world geography
  • Coursework or employment in related field
 
This position is available immediately and is full time based in the office, Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 pm.
